The New York Public Library (NYPL) has named The Man in the McIntosh Suit one of its Best Books of 2023 and Top 10 Graphic Novels for Adults! A huge thank you to all the NYPL librarians and staff for their tireless efforts supporting and spreading their love of books and comics all the year through!
From the NYPL website: “Every year, librarians and staff at The New York Public Library select noteworthy new books for readers of all ages and recommend them as our “Best Books” of the year. These lists build on the Library’s century-old tradition of recommending the best-loved titles published for children each year, and in recent years have expanded to encompass titles for teens and adults, as well as books in Spanish for younger readers. They have always sought to reflect the diversity of New York City’s readership. Founded in 1895, The New York Public Library is the nation’s largest public library system, with neighborhood branches throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island, and scholarly research centers.”
For the Top 10 Comics and Graphic Novels list, NYPL’s Best Comics Committee read over 550 titles. They created a list for their 50 best titles, and out of that list, named The Man in the McIntosh Suit one of its “10 exceptional titles”. They had this to say about the book:
